Wild Olive African Artisans in Bucharest announces the appointment of Alina Bucur as its new brand curator, effective August 1, 2018
Alina Bucur succeeds Iulia Durbacel, who has been the brand manager since 2016. Iulia leaves her position after having led the company successfully for two years.
“I am honored and excited to assume this position at Wild Olive African Artisans whose products and ethical contributions to the field I have long admired,” said Alina Bucur. “It is an opportunity to publicly explore ways we can engage with local artists and I am committed to do so by creating initiatives that delve in the present, while acknowledging the importance of South Africa’s contribution to manufacture and hopefully inspire communities of like-minded people.”
As brand curator, Alina Bucur will engage with artists who she has collaborated with in the past in order to create installations related to conscious living and the importance of art in human life, also translated in commercially viable perfumery and apothecary products.
“I am thrilled to see what we were able to achieve in the past six years in Romania, in the way we have continued to be a site of excellence for eco-luxury and ethical, natural perfumery and apothecary products, while allowing a stage for debate about the role we have as educators in Cape Town” Marioara de la Tara, creative director of Wild Olive African Artisans stated.
She further adds: “Alina’s appointment aligns wonderfully with our ambition to become a relevant actor on the product design stage. She is the perfect person to lead our company into the next, and possibly the most important, chapter of its evolution”.
